The calendar says summer, but the start of school is just around the corner. That means school supplies shopping for many of The Retreat at Sunny Vista’s team members. You can make a difference for their children and grandchildren by giving the educational tools they need to succeed and give much needed support to team members who have worked so hard to support older adults through the pandemic. This is an easy, impactful way to show your appreciation for associates and help alleviate the stress of preparing for the school year.
From July 19th through August 20th, The Retreat at Sunny Vista will be collecting backpacks, pencils, folders, notebooks and such, to be distributed to associates with children or grandchildren before the first day of school.
This is a great way to come together and show we care as supplies are costly – upwards of $50 for an elementary-school aged student and more for middle school and high-school students whose supply lists often include expensive calculators and reference books.
Interested in helping out? Visit The Retreat at Sunny Vista to drop off your donations. There will be a box located in the lobby where you can drop off your school supply donations. Thank you so much for you caring support to our team members. We appreciate you all so much.

We are preparing for some wonderful family reunions! Just yesterday the Center for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) released new guidance that communities like ours should offer responsible and safe visit options regardless of vaccination status for families and residents. CMS put in place some restrictions, and as has been the case throughout the pandemic, we must receive the green light from the Colorado health department before we can actually host more indoor visits. Read the specific information on our Cappella Living Solution's website.
Rosalie Lane was the first to write her name on the list when she heard that residents 70 and older could receive the vaccine. The delivery of the Pfizer vaccine to protect against COVID-19 was given by the mobile vaccine clinic team from UCHealth Memorial Hospital on Wednesday.
We want to share with you what we know now about the COVID-19 vaccine, how it will be distributed, what we are doing to keep associates, residents, and families of The Retreat at Sunny Vista informed about the process, and our continued commitment to testing, virus mitigation, and the overall quality of life for residents.
