We are preparing for some wonderful family reunions! Just yesterday the Center for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) released new guidance that communities like ours should offer responsible and safe visit options regardless of vaccination status for families and residents. CMS put in place some restrictions, and as has been the case throughout the pandemic, we must receive the green light from the Colorado health department before we can actually host more indoor visits. KOAA News and Bill Folsom report on the UCHealth Mobile Clinic that delivered the COVID-19 Vaccine to Sunny Vista on Wednesday. The clinic has a plan to get the vaccine to people who may not be able to get to a health provider at their permanent locations. This is their first of what they are calling their Mobile Vaccination Clinic.
" I'm so excited, I haven't stopped talking since I heard about it yesterday," said resident Rosalie Lane.
UCHealth is also starting vaccine for people over 70 at some of its non-mobile locations. This happens as the vaccine supplies are available. People are required to sign up on-line through My Health Connection. Those joining the on-line list get an electronic notification when they meet the criteria and a dose is available.
Rosalie Lane was the first to write her name on the list when she heard that residents 70 and older could receive the vaccine. The delivery of the Pfizer vaccine to protect against COVID-19 was given by the mobile vaccine clinic team from UCHealth Memorial Hospital on Wednesday.
We want to share with you what we know now about the COVID-19 vaccine, how it will be distributed, what we are doing to keep associates, residents, and families of The Retreat at Sunny Vista informed about the process, and our continued commitment to testing, virus mitigation, and the overall quality of life for residents.
