A common question individuals ask when touring senior living or assisted living is, “What’s Included in the Monthly Rent?” or “Why Is the Rent So Expensive?” More often than not, the response is a basic answers like meals, housekeeping, transportation etc. These are surface level answers.
Here at The Retreat, we believe in being transparent, and that starts with what’s included in the monthly rental rate for our apartments.

On May 22, Colorado Gov. Jared Polis approved a bill that will cap the price of insulin co-pays at $100 a month for patients with health insurance, regardless of the amount they need. The law comes into force next year.
“The days of insulin price gouging are over in Colorado,” Polis told CBS Denver. It’s a bold promise, reflecting nationwide, bipartisan concern over the soaring costs of prescription drugs and insulin in particular.
We’d love to introduce you to Kristi Breakall, our new Life Enrichment Director here at The Retreat at Sunny Vista. Kristi was born and raised in North Texas. She graduated from Texas A&M University and holds an LPN license. She has been in senior living for 10 years. Kristi volunteers with the Colorado Springs chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association and is currently the marketing chair for the area’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
Chrissy Magur was working as an excellent housekeeper in our community and has been promoted to our new Life Enrichment Assistant.
